Sanskrit Workshop Series
Seeds of Sound: An Introduction to the Sanskrit Alphabet
Part 1: The Resonance of Sound - Aurality and Embodiment
Discover the sonic body of Sanskrit - the alphabet as an embodied experience of voice, vibration, and meaning
This 90-minute workshop focuses on the oral tradition of Sanskrit—how sound is formed, felt, and transmitted. We’ll explore the alphabet as an embodied map of vibration, learning to experience the resonance of sound in the body through guided listening, vocalization, and breath-based practice.
You’ll also learn about the history of the Sanskrit alphabet, including how it evolved from an entirely oral tradition of precise recitation, where listening and speaking were inseparable practices of presence and learning.
This session is experiential, focusing on hearing, feeling, and voicing the sounds of Sanskrit rather than writing.
No prior experience is required—this is the perfect entry point for yoga practitioners, mantra enthusiasts, and anyone drawn to the mystery of sacred sound.
🜁 Deepen your relationship to sound, language, and the meaning it carries.
